Joanna has worked for 15 years in the Australian Government in the areas of climate change, employment policy and programs, and international education. Joanna also has more than 15 years private sector experience in business development and the finance industry.

Prior to her role as Counsellor, Joanna was the Director of International Skills Cooperation: South & West Asia, Americas and Pacific in the Department of Education and Training, with responsibility for several bilateral skills relationships and the Australian Government’s International Skills Training courses initiative, including the International Training and Assessment courses for vocational trainers and assessors. 
Joanna has previously worked at the Australian High Commission in India, supporting high level Ministerial meetings and the Australia India Education Council (AIEC), and represented the department on the AIEC Skills Working Group.
 
Joanna holds a Master of Public Policy, specialising in International Policy, from the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from Canberra Institute of Technology.
