​Mr Pat Donaldson is the Education Manager at the Australian Embassy, Paris representing the Australian Government, Department of Education and Training at the OECD and UNESCO.  In this position, he covers a broad range of education policy matters, including early childhood education, schools, vocational education and training, higher and international education.

Pat previously worked as a senior advisor to the Treasurer of Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government, where he was responsible for coordinating the jurisdiction’s annual budget.  This role included coverage of funding policy for the ACT schools system and initiatives to support growth of ACT higher education sector.

Pat has also worked for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), a government agency promoting trade, investment and international education.  He worked for several years as a liaison officer in the parliamentary offices of the Federal Minister and Parliamentary Secretary for Trade. He has worked on a major review of state and federal trade and investment promotion agencies and also undertaken research and analysis into Australia’s higher education sector.

Previously, Pat worked for an Australian agricultural industry association, where he undertook advocacy and policy analysis on international trade and industry competitiveness.

Pat holds a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
