​Mr Edward Harvey is the Education Manager at the Australian Embassy, Paris representing the Australian Government, Department of Education and Training as part of the permanent delegation to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development  (OECD) and United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
 
Ed has held a variety of jobs at the Department of Communications and the Arts and as Departmental Liaison Officer to the Minister of Communications represented portfolio interests with the International Telecommunications Union and multilateral organisations such as the OECD, APEC and the World Trade Organisation. He was the department's key negotiator on the services related aspects of Australia's free trade agreements, including China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN and the Trans Pacific Partnership. Prior to assuming the role of Education Manager, Edward worked at the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources where he was responsible for national biosecurity policy at Australian airports and seaports. He implemented the Australian Government's Ebola response, led the department's response to mass detection of exotic mosquitoes at Australian airports and was responsible for the department's strategy to manage next generation paperless border processes for passengers arriving in Australia.
 
Ed's priorities as Education Manager will cover key education policy areas including early childhood, schools, vocational education and training, higher and international education and educational indicators.
