The bilateral relationship between Australia and Japan is a strategic priority for both countries and the education, research and science relationship provides important economic, institutional and people-to-people benefits for both nations. Building on a long history of high quality cooperation, we want education and research to play a stronger role in this partnership in the future. Established in 1996, this program is a highly valued and long-standing institutional-level partnership which builds important people to people links, supports information sharing between policy-makers in Australia and Japan, and provides a valuable opportunity to identify future areas of bilateral cooperation.
