Welfare arrangements for Under 18 international students

Page Content

Student visa holders who are under 18 are required to have approved welfare arrangements in place. Details of options for welfare arrangements can be found on the Department of Home Affairs website here.

Given the travel restrictions in place due to COVID-19, international students may be considering alternative welfare arrangements during the December-January holiday period. To ensure international students and education providers have information available to make decisions about appropriate visa and welfare arrangements, some answers to frequently asked questions can be found here.

For providers who need guidance on how to reflect changed welfare arrangements in the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS), a news item will shortly be released on PRISMS or you can contact the PRISMS helpdesk on prisms@education.gov.au.
