AEI is working with Universities Australia on the 2012 Australia Indonesia University Executives Knowledge Exchange Pilot Program – an initiative jointly announced in November 2011 by Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The program will progress higher education collaboration, including building management capacity in Indonesian universities.
The program will focus on exchanging knowledge about management of international education and research engagement, international student engagement and management of international student offices and support, development strategies of Australian universities as well as industry and commercial linkages.
Indonesian university executives will visit Australia for two weeks in September 2012 and will spend time at two Australian universities. They will also participate in a one day leadership training program, where they will learn about Australian management and leadership styles, cross cultural communication and international engagement strategies.
