The University of New England, its Australian partner, the University of Western Sydney and the European partners ESC Rennes and the Open University of Catalunya, will shortly commence their joint degree project - MBA International Social Entrepreneurship.
As part of the 8th round of Australia-European Union joint cooperation projects, the four institutions will develop and deliver an international joint degree in Australia, France and Spain.
“We look forward to working with our Australian partner, the University of Western Sydney, and our European partners in France and Spain to producing a successful program in an area of high workforce relevance” said Professor Victor Minichiello, Pro Vice-Chancellor & Dean, Faculty of The Professions at the University of New England.
“There is currently no Australian University that offers an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship and the degree hopes to utilise European experience in the field”.
Since 2002 Australia and the European Union (EU) have jointly cooperated to fund eight rounds of bilateral student mobility projects resulting in 22 projects. By the end of the eighth round, more than 1440 Australian and European students will have studied overseas in either Europe or Australia as part of these projects.
The projects take place under the auspices of the EU’s Industrialised Countries Instrument - Education Cooperation Program (ICI-ECP).The ICI ECP allows the EU to simultaneously undertake separate student mobility projects with Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
