Page Content

05 March 2012

On the 19-20 December 2011, AEI welcomed an Indonesian delegation from the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 9th Joint Working Group conference. The meeting also brought together participants from DFAT, AusAID and the ACT Department of Education who contributed to a whole of government approach to collaboration with Indonesia.

Developments and challenges in policy areas in both countries were discussed and priority areas for future engagement were identified and agreed upon.

Of particular note was agreement by Indonesia regarding the recognition of the three year Australian Bachelor degrees. Other areas where ongoing cooperation was agreed to included:
-Tertiary education quality assurance
-Teacher/university lecturer quality
-Student mobility
-Strengthening government linkages
-Strengthening institutional linkages.

We look forward to progressing the outcomes over the course of 2012
