Australia India Education Links Website

Page Content

17 August 2011

The Australia India Education Links portal is a joint website developed by Australian Education International (AEI) and the Government of India to facilitate greater collaboration in education and training between the two countries. The website highlights current successful education collaboration between Australian and Indian institutions and provides an online platform for key areas of the Australia-India education and training partnership:

  • Australia-India Education Council (AIEC) – A bi-national body, co-chaired by both Education Ministers, to progress areas of mutual benefit to both nations in further strengthening the bilateral education, training and research relationship.
  • Bureau of Vocational Education and Training Collaboration (BVETC) – A body that aims to guide, facilitate and review continuing collaboration in vocational education and training (VET) between the two countries, including industry-to-industry and institution-to-institution collaboration.
  • India-Australia Higher Education Exchange (AIHEE) – A new facilitation mechanism for higher education collaboration between India and Australia, based on the successful BVETC model.
  • Higher Education collaboration database – which includes 300 active institutional collaboration arrangements between Australian and Indian Universities.
  • The website was launched by Senator Chris Evans, Minister for Tertiary Education, Jobs, Skills and Workplace Relations, during his visit to India 1-4 August 2011.
