27 May 2011

The Australian Government in partnership with the Australian-American Fulbright Commission has announced funding for a new scholarship for an outstanding American professor to work with world-leading scientists from Australia.

The Distinguished Chair program will fund a distinguished US researcher to share knowledge and skills with the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation through guest lectures, seminars and other opportunities.

Colin Walters, Fulbright Commission board member and CEO of AEI, welcomed the establishment of the program.

Applications open in February 2012 and the first chair is expected to start in 2012–13.
