Sharing Qualifications Recognition Practices with Oman

Page Content

The Qualifications Recognition Policy team in the International Group recently welcomed an Omani Ministry of Higher Education delegation for a five day workshop on international qualifications recognition methodology and assessment practices.

Mrs Khadija Mufti Al-Sayed Al-Qurashi and Miss Maimouna Rashid Al-Kharusi from the Qualification Equivalency and Recognition department also shared information on the Omani higher education system and Oman’s higher education institutions. The visitors from Oman also met with other areas of the department, including the Higher Education Reform Group and Trades Recognition Australia.

The delegation also took the opportunity to visit Engineers Australia – to better understand how a professional body supports qualifications recognition and professional mobility – and the Australian National University where they were able to meet and speak with Omani students about their Australian study experiences.

There are currently 419 Omani students enrolled in Higher Education institutions in Australia. The department looks forward to further strengthening ties with our Omani counterparts.
