​The Comparative Analysis of the Australian Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning: Joint Technical Report is set to enhance mobility between Australia and Europe by improving mutual understanding of the European and Australian qualifications frameworks. It is a source of information that provides additional context for decisions about the recognition of qualifications that support student and labour mobility.

Supporting graduates with Australian qualifications globally is a key deliverable of the Australian Government’s National Strategy for International Education 2025.
 
The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a regional framework that serves as a reference point for the qualifications frameworks of individual European countries. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is Australia’s national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training.
 
The report promotes understanding and trust in each other’s qualifications, learning outcomes and quality assurance arrangements to enhance student and labour mobility. It facilitates cooperation, linkages and partnerships between governments and institutions such as student and researcher exchanges and dual degrees and may be used by a diverse range of organisations involved in qualifications, quality assurance, recognition and mobility.
