CRICOS Providers exempt from registration fees in 2020 and 2021

Page Content
On 9 July 2020 the Education Services for Overseas Students (Registration Charges) Amendment (COVID-19 Exemptions) Regulations 2020 (Regulations) were made to exempt all providers registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) from paying the CRICOS Annual Registration Charge (ARC) and Entry to Market Charges (EMCs) from 12 April 2020 to 30 June 2021. These changes will give effect to the regulatory fee relief measure in the Higher Education Relief Package which was announced on 12 April 2020 to provide support for Australia’s education and training providers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Regulations:
  • exempt all new and existing CRICOS-registered providers from the requirement to pay the 2021 ARC; and
  • exempt all new and existing CRICOS-registered providers from the requirement to pay the EMCs, for the period 12 April 2020 to 30 June 2021.

Further details of the fee exemptions can be found in the fact sheet here.
