Twenty-three Australian alumni from across Brazil came together in Brasilia in February 2017 for the 2nd Australia-Brazil Alumni Leadership Conference. The conference provided an opportunity for two days of networking, professional development, and workshopping of key issues around mobility and internationalisation.
The alumni made presentations to Brazilian Government representatives about their experience in undertaking research in Australia.
With 20,000 Brazilians travelling to Australia for study each year, this quickly growing alumni cohort is an important resource for Australia to draw upon as we continue to develop Australia’s position as a destination of choice for study and research. The Australian Embassy in Brazil has an active alumni engagement program which includes activities in eight cities each year.
The conference was a joint initiative of the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
