New arrangements for the STPM in Malaysia

Page Content

The Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) is to undergo a major revamp commencing with the lower sixth cohort in first term 2012 (starting in June 2012).  STPM results will no longer be based 100% on examination results, but instead will include, over the 18 month period of study, a cumulative assessment of assignments, field research, laboratory work and term examinations. Students will be permitted to resit the first and second term examinations.

The final weighting for the assessment unit has not yet been announced but is expected to be between 60-80% for the examination.
