International Education Group (IEG) Indonesia manages the Australia–Indonesia education relationship and works with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration on a range issues related to education and training policy and systems. These include recognition of qualifications, credit transfer, quality assurance, curriculum development, institutional governance and other policy issues across all levels of education. IEG Indonesia also works closely with Australian and Indonesian institutions to facilitate policy engagement and exchange, staff and student exchanges, cooperation in research and development.

Specific activities and functions of IEG Indonesia

• promoting government-to-government cooperation in education and training between Indonesia and Australia, including activities under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Education and Training
• promoting government-to-government cooperation in social protection policies, programs for workers and other labour matters between Indonesia and Australia, including activities under the Arrangement on Labour and Social Protections
• providing advice of Indonesia’s education policy and future directions
• providing education and training advice into free trade agreements and multilateral forums
• fostering academic and institutional policy engagement and exchange
• disseminating and managing information on the Australia Awards, Australian Government scholarship program
• in-country management of the BRIDGE, Australia–Indonesia school partnership program.
