Universitas Gadjah Mada will hold an International Students Summer Program in Jogjakarta on 1-14 July 2012 with the theme of “Alternative Education: Because Education Knows No Boundaries”. It is expected that around 100 students from various countries will join this program. Application is opened until 15 April 2012.
DREaM (an abbreviation of Disaster Research, Community Empowerment, and Microeconomics) is an international students’ summer program which was first initiated by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia in 2009. This program is aimed to prepare global future leaders and to embrace all differences of nationality, idealism, religion, and background to create mutual understanding among nations. The program is dedicated to enhance people-to-people among youths across communities and nations.
Scheduled to be taking place on 1-14 July 2012, DREaM 2012 highlights “Alternative Education” as the theme for the 2012 program which is in line with the University’s mission to contribute to the development of the society, through education. In this event, participants will be encouraged to discuss and to implement the idea of alternative education through participation on various activities such as lectures, internships, tutorials, community service, and excursions.
How to Apply
Eligibility:
1. Undergraduate students
2. Strong academic background
3. Good command in English (proven by English Language proficiency certificate)
4. Independent and able to work as a team
Required Documentation:
1. Registration Form (can be downloaded at http://oia.ugm.ac.id/dream)
2. 1 page of A4 sized paper of essay. You could choose one of these themes:
a. The Importance of Alternative Education in the World
b. Alternative Education in Today’s World
3. Copy of English Certificate
