Europe Policy Dialogue 2012

The 2012 policy dialogue on the topic of international education was held on March 12 in Brussels. The dialogue was co-chaired by Mr Colin Walters, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Education International and Mr Jordi Currell, Director, Higher Education and International Affairs, Directorate-General for Education and Culture.

Discussions focused on quality in international education, student mobility and student wellbeing. In the joint statement  that was issued, key actions agreed on at the policy dialogue include: a forum on the role of Education and Training in preparing for participation in the workforce, to be held in Brussels in November 2012; a continuation of the bilateral academic cooperation projects, with the 2013 Directors Conference to be held in Australia; hosting a significant alumni networking event in Brussels in May 2012 in conjunction with alumni networks, as well as a pre-departure workshop for Australian Students going to Europe to be held in Australia in October 2012 in Melbourne; and a joint expert seminar on mobility will also take place from the 14-19 of October in Australia.
