A number of senior leadership of MoE affiliated universities have been announced since November 2010. These leadership (vice-ministerial rank) adjustments are approved by CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
The details of leadership adjustments as the President of the university:
- Mr GONG Ke, appointed the President of Nankai University (vice-ministerial rank).
Mr GONG Ke, born in June 1955, Professor, communications and radio propagation PhD graduate from Technical University of Graz, Austria. He was a Vice-President of Tsinghua University from March 1999 to July 2006; in July 2006 he was appointed the President of Tianjin University (vice-ministerial rank).
- Mr LI Jiajun, appointed the President of Tianjin University (vice-ministerial rank)
Mr LI Jiajun, born in November 1955, Professor, Materials Engineering PhD graduate of University of Wales, Swansea. His former positions include the President of Tianjin Polytechnic University, Director-General of Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, the Secretary of CPC Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Working Committee, the Secretary of CPC Party of Intellectual Property Bureau.
- Mr LI Xiaohong, appointed the President of Wuhan University (vice-ministerial rank)
Mr LI Xiaohong, born in June 1959, Professor, Mining Machinery Engineering PhD graduate of Chongqing University. He used to be Vice-President of Chongqing University; he was appointed the President of Chongqing University (vice-ministerial rank) in July 2004.
- Mr LIN Jianhua, appointed the President of Chongqing University (vice-ministerial rank)
Mr LIN Jianhua, born in October 1955, Professor, Chemistry PhD graduate of Peking University. He was a Vice-President of Peking University from September 2002 to December 2004; in December 2004 he was appointed the Executive Vice-President of Peking University (director-general rank).
- Mr XU Ningsheng, appointed the President of Sun Yat-sen University (vice-ministerial rank)
Mr XU Ningsheng, born in July 1957, Professor, PhD graduate from the UK’s Aston University, majoring in electrical engineering. Prior to his appointment, XU was a Vice-President of Sun Yat-sen University since February 2004. He was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in December 2009.
- Mr WANG Yanxin, appointed the President of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)
Mr WANG Yanxin, born in December 1963, Professor, Engineering PhD graduate from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He was a Vice-President of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) since January 2000.
